Objectives
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Review and discuss updated approaches to the diagnosis, management, and treatment of common gastrointestinal and liver disorders that improve the delivery and outcomes of care for female patients.
  2. Recognize potential barriers specific to female healthcare leaders that may prevent advancement in leadership roles.
  3. Identify gender-specific barriers women may encounter in GI/liver medical care.
  4. Develop strategies that promote gender-neutral equal-access to care and treatment.
  5. Discuss gender-specific differences and considerations when contemplating endoscopy in the female patient.
  6. Discuss unique challenges shared by female patients and female physicians and APPs in the field of gastroenterology.
